A Great Loss For Pakistan And Urdu Literature.

I feel really sad while writing this news, Our Renowned Urdu writer Fatima Surayya Bajiya passed away at the age of 85 on Wednesday evening. She was suffering from throat cancer.

She was born on September 1, 1930 in India and migrated with her family to Pakistan at the time of Partition.  She wrote dramas, novels, stage dramas and also produced children programs. She was the older sister of  Anwar Maqsood, poet Zehra Nigah and cooking expert Zubaida Tariq.

She was awarded several times for her incomparable contribution to Pakistan Television and Urdu Literature.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad and President Mamnoon Hussain expressed their condolences.
