There are so many stories of runaway brides but in a unique twist, an Indian man ran away from his wedding to be with his real love. On the day of the wedding, the runaway groom decided to elope with his girlfriend.
Hailing from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh the man decided to elope with someone else even when his marriage was arranged to a woman from Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Looks like his parents pressured him with their plans until he decided to bail at the last minute.
He came along with the Barat for the wedding ceremony on Saturday, January 11, 2020. When he got off the bus, he realized that he didn’t want to get tied into this arranged marriage.
The groom managed to meet his girlfriend in Agra and the two lovers ran away.
The Bride Still Got Married!
At first, the bride and her family waited for the Barat procession. Soon enough the groom admitted what he had done and informed the bride’s family that he had no intention of marrying their daughter.
The bride’s family was furious, particularly her father. Luckily a man from Etawah proposed to the bride at the venue and the family accepted.
At this point, the family must be concerned about ‘saving honor’ and not turning back the guests without a wedding.
A wedding was saved and news of the runaway groom incident was discussed in the city of Bah throughout the day.
