Down Syndrome model becomes the new face of benefit cosmetics

Finally beauty industry around the world is adapting and changing trends and figures, steps which should have been take much longer ago are now being taken. With dior’s imperfect campaign to cover girls first transgender model.

Benefit cosmetics has fallen in the line to do the same. The giant beauty brand just signed its new brand ambassador, Kate Grant.

The 20-year-old model with Down Syndrome, was chosen as the brand’s beauty ambassador because one of the photos she shared on her Instagram profile, tagging Benefit Cosmetics, got an impressive feedback on Benefit’s Instagram page.

Grant has quite a modeling experience already. She was hailed as the champion in the Teen Ultimate Beauty of the World Pageant, she’s been one of the catwalk models at the Belfast Fashion Week and even made a T.V début in a morning show.

Having down syndrome and being a beauty ambassador will help her spread awareness about the importance of inclusion for people with disabilities like her, and will help them not being defined by their disability. This is only the beginning of Grant’s modelling career, and with such a strong attitude, we are sure we’ll hear about her in the future.
