Four days later TV actor Pratyusha Banerjee found dead at her home in Mumbai, Her Boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh who runs a production house has been charged by police abetting her suicide. Mr Singh who has been in hospital since Sunday after complaining chest pain and low blood pressure.
Ms Banerjee, 24, was famous for her role as the lead character in the TV serial “Balika Vadhu”. On April 1st She was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her apartment.
On Monday, Ms Banerjee friends Kamya Panjabi and producer Vikas Gupta along with some friends held a press conference in Mumbai, in which they described the actress’ relationship with Mr Singh as ‘Messy’. They also alleged that Pratyusha Banerjee believed her boyfriend was cheating on her and that he had slapped her in public. She was also allegedly assaulted by Rahul Raj Singh’s ex-girlfriend, Saloni Sharma.
Rahul Raj Singh told mid-day that he is innocent and that he would have married Ms Banerjee, as there is no such evidence found against the young producer during police investigation which found him guilty.
Yet still Police investigations are underway.
Pratyusha Banerjee hanged herself in her Goregaon apartment on April 1st and was taken to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. A preliminary autopsy report indicated that she had died of asphyxiation.
