Captain Marvel lands with trolls on Rotten Tomatoes!

The latest chapter of Hollywood superhero movie Captain Marvel hit the theaters this weekend with the largest ever global opening for a March release earning $455 million overall till Sunday. Although the movie has become the biggest success for the franchise, some small group of trolls took to the site dragging the film down to its level.

The trolls pointed that film seemed to be misogynist rage at a female superhero and bad faith hate towards some comments, star Brie Larson, made about inclusivity suggesting that film reviewers should be more diverse.

The negative user reviews via rotten tomatoes, resulted in the site to change its policies to remove the ‘want to see’ audience option and instituting a new rule preventing such ahead-of-time tactics in the future.

“We are disabling the comments function prior to movie’s release date. Unfortunately we have seen an uptick in non-conservative input, sometimes bordering on trolling, which we believe is a disservice to our general readership. We have decided that turning off this feature for now is the best course of action. Don’t worry though; fans will still get to have their say. Once a movie is released, audiences can leave a user rating and comments as they always have.”

The pre-release comments shut down did not stop trolls to score negative reviews of the film. Captain Marvel had 50,000 reviews that triggered directors like Rian Johnson and Paul Feig, who have seen movies reviews bombed, took to Twitter in support of Captain Marvel.
