Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Karan Arjun’ is one of the iconic films of Bollywood. Actor and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan’s 1995 re-incarnation venture is quite special as it not only brought the two Khan’s together but also had Hrithik Roshan working as an assistant director much before his Bollywood debut. But not many know that Salman Khan wasn’t the first choice to portray the role of Karan. Any guesses as to who was?
It was none other than Ajay Devgn whom Rakesh Roshan had earlier cast as Karan in the film. But, due to some differences with the senior Roshan, the ‘Singham’ of Bollywood walked out and Salman Khan walked in and the movie went on to break records at the box-office. The film won two awards Best Action and Best Editing at the Filmfare Awards.
Till date, there have been many occasions when Salman and SRK have been referred to as ‘Karan Arjun’. It all started after this film. Such an iconic film it was!
Talking of Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn, they share a bond of friendship and have been seen together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and Vipul Shah’s ‘London Dreams’. In fact, they have even done cameos in each other’s films like ‘Ready’, ‘Son of Sardaar‘ and a few others.
