Let’s face it, we Pakistanis are obsessed with the drink and can’t survive a day without it. In fact, this phenomenon is so much so that scientists have now come up with a wine that is actually made of nothing else but the great Chai. Yes, you heard it right!
A team of 5 scientists from Assam’s Tocklai Tea Research Institute recently launched the wine developed from tea in Jorhat, India.
“The scientists from the department of Mycology and Micro-Biology of the pioneer tea research institute developed 3 varieties of tea wine – CTC wine, Orthodox wine and Green tea wine,” Institute Director Dr Anup Kumar Baruah told PTI at the launch.
The wine is reportedly a “residue-free wine prepared from organic, pesticide-free green tea,” and helps in controlling sugar, fights off cold, and prevents dementia, and some cancers, reported HT.
Well, we love having chai and we also love to drink wine, but the two of them together?
