Pop diva Madonna says she will “never say never” to adopting more children because she finds motherhood a form of healing.
The 59-year-old singer has Lourdes, 20, Rocco, 17, Mercy and David, both 11, as well as five-year-old twins Stelle and Estere.
In a recent interview, Madonna says:
“Who knows? Yeah, I – I never say never. You never know what surprise awaits you around the corner.”
The singer, whose mother Madonna Louise Ciccone passed away when the she was just five years old, says; Motherhood has enabled her to be the parent she never had.
“I get to become the mom I never had. So, yeah, it’s a very healing experience,” she adds.
The music superstar also spoke about building the first ever children’s hospital in Malawi, after she founded the charity Raising Malawi to help provide health and education services.
The pop star further reveals that she would often think;
“I’m a crazy person. What am I doing this for? So here we are. It happened. It’s built, and it’s up and running. And children’s lives are being saved as a result. And I feel like, you know, sometimes you can’t think too far in advance.”
Madonna is famous for being out-of-the-box but the singer says she doesn’t consider herself to have been too provocative in her life so far.
“Oh, I’m sure I’ve done provocative things just for the sake of provocation,” she said. “Not so much now. Definitely not since I have children. But I think, when I was younger, I used to just say things, do crazy things. But everybody does.”
