“Art has no boundaries and no country should pose a ban on the promotion of art and artistes, regardless of their origin and nationality,” said legendary Indian filmmaker Muzaffar Ali on HUM’s morning show Jago Pakistan Jago, hosted by the stunning Sanam Jung. The maker of 80’s blockbuster Umrao Jaan and the Imran Abbas starrer Jaanisaar, Muzaffar Ali and his wife Meera Ali praised Pakistani authorities and HUM Network for believing in art, peace and cross-border relations.

Muzaffar Ali’s 80’s, super hit film Umrao Jaan left an everlasting effect on Pakistani film viewers as well, a fact evident from the number of live calls made during the transmission in appreciation of Muzaffar Ali’s film and his visit to Pakistan. The queen of Sufi music Abida Parveen also turned out to be Muzafar Ali’s die-hard fan and praised his work during a live call. This wasn’t the only celebrity call in today’s Jago Pakistan Jago as Pakistani heartthrob Imran Abbas, also a regular viewer of HUM’s JPJ, called in to praise HUM Network’s management for inviting Muzaffar Ali and Mira on the show and shared his experience of working with the legendary filmmaker in Jaanisaar. HUM Network president Sultana Siddiqui who was also present on the occasion welcomed Muzaffar Ali and his wife to Pakistan and encouraged other Indian artistes to visit Pakistan.

“Just as Muzaffar Ali said, artistes have no boundaries. The expression of art, poetry and music is the best method of spreading peace in the world. I believe our countries can greatly benefit from the cross-border exchange of artistes as well as productions that are equally enjoyed by audiences on either side of the border,” she opined.

Muzafar Ali’s latest cinematic venture Jaanissar, starring Imran Abbas in the lead role, is yet to release in Pakistan and Ali remains hopeful that the film will be released in Pakistan soon. On the occasion, the multi-talented Muzaffar Ali also drew live sketch of JPJ host Sanam Jung.
