Aamir Khan’s film becomes second highest opener of the year

Aamir Khan’s Dangal has collected Rs 29.78 crore in box office collection on the first day of its release. The film is expected to cross Rs 100 crore in first weekend itself, given the strong word of mouth and positive publicity it is getting from all around.

The film is soaring high with all appreciation and love that it is getting from the audience. The audience was awaiting the Aamir Khan movie inspired by real-life wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat’s life; and the love is showing at box office.

Not just that, ‘Dangal’ has registered itself in the top ten opening collections of all time, sitting strongly at the seventh position. The list of top ten opening collections sees a heavy dominance from the three Khans – Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir. While Salman’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ rules the chart with Rs 39.32 crore, Aamir’s films in the list include ‘Dhoom 3’ on the fourth spot and ‘PK’ at the tenth spot. The Nitesh Tiwari-directed film hasn’t been able to match the first day figures of ‘Dhoom 3’ which had seen Rs 32.48 crore coming in.

‘Dangal’ is expected to see a jump in its collections as it has come on a non-holiday and has the entire weekend to mint money.
