Accident on the sets of Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati; one dead

On the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, one labourer died after a mishap. Police is currently investigating if any safety rules were neglected on Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh-starrer sets.

A senior police officer from Aarey Colony police station stated that the victim’s name is Mukesh Dakia, aged 34. He was a painter and was working on the making of a set in Film City. He fell on head from a height of five feet while painting.

He was declared dead by Kokilaben hospital on Friday. The Accidental Death Report (ADR) was registered in Aarey Police Station, and investigation is on. The team of Padmavati hasn’t commented on this incident yet.

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has extended help to the victim’s family and has sympathy for the loss of life on his set. Shobha Santa, the CEO of Bhansali Productions said, “What took place was extremely unfortunate and completely unexpected. We are making every effort to help the victim and we mourn the death of the departed.”
