Is Naseeruddin Shah the recent target of Indian extremism?

Naseeruddin Shah, who has previously worked in Pakistani films like ‘Khuda Kay Liye’, ‘Zinda Bhaag’ and recently worked in ‘Jeewan Hathi’, now, says that he will now work in Pakistani films only when relation between the two nations would be good. He feels that the Indian government should decide whether Pakistani artistes be allowed to work in India or not.

“It depends on the future circumstances whether I would work in Pakistan or not. I don’t know what circumstances will be there in future. When I will get an offer from Pakistan in future, then I will look through the circumstances and then decide,” Naseeruddin said in a press conference at the fifth edition of Dharamshala International Film Festival on Sunday.

When asked whether the Indian government should think about banning Pakistani artistes from working in India, Naseeruddin said: “The government will decide what should be done in it. I feel that we should respect the government’s decision. Whatever the government would decide, that will be correct for me and if the government says no to Pakistani artists, then it’s obvious that nobody will work with them, not even me.”

This clearly proves that Naseeruddin Shah is being threatened by his government. The actor who previously supported Pakistan now supports Indian government. Naseeruddin Shah’s recently released Pakistani film ‘Jeewan Hathi’ received a lot of appreciation and this is what we get in return.

We, Pakistanis, need to support our actors and ban all Indian actors working in Pakistan. We still welcome them with open arms but its high time we should take some serious action against these Indian artists.
