Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s documentary “Songs of Lahore” has won the award at the 11th Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival.

The documentary is about a group of Lahore’s stressed musicians determined to bridge the East-West cultural partition.

Song of Lahore takes a close look at the musicians’ lives as they get ready for a concert in New York City. In a unique experiment, they mix together traditional music with Jazz to save the cultural legacy of the subcontinent.
