“There is no respect for women in India,” Priyanka Chopra

In the recent press conference in India, Priyanka Chopra said that life in India is very difficult for a woman to live. Emphasizing on the subject of gender equality she said, “Mothers should teach boys to respect girls and men should come forward to educate girls.”

She added that, “We live in a society where girls are told that they are jewels of the family. A girl becomes synonymous of the family honour. To protect that honour families starts discriminating against girls and that leads us to a vicious cycle of boy preference.”

Priyanka Chopra urged on the fact that girls should be taught to fight for themselves as no one else would now fight on their behalf.

Being highly concerned of the safety and lifestyle of the women in India she said that India should learn from its neighbouring country how one should respect its women, regardless of the disputes and border clashes.

Priyanka Chopra seems to have stepped out of the political disputes and spoke ahead to what she felt was right and appropriate without considering the borderline conspiracies and political clashes.
