Are schools too challenging for children? How can Moms help?

Mothers want to see their children succeed in all aspects of life: academics, social life, extra-curricular activities. And they do their best to enable them for this success, helping them with academics, promoting healthy habits, and showering them with love and support, they leave no stone unturned to provide their support.

Today’s school routines have become challenging, and childrenare required to maintain their grades, perform extra-curricular activities, develop a healthy social life, and more. This challenging routine can also drain them and affect their school performance. In fact, research has found that 7 out of 10 children complain of tiredness in classes that take place after the school break. That tiredness could mean that children are not motivated to learn, and that leads to a drop in their performance and grades.

Mothers take care of every aspect of a child’s life, and they always want them to succeed. However, lunch break is arguably the most important time of day when children should rechargewith Nutritious foods, and not doing so could leave them unable to learn in the classes after break. The Moms of today already know – 98% want to increase the Nutrition of their children’s lunch boxes. So we asked a Nutritionist how Moms can do that.

Moms should ensure that every meal should include all three macro-nutrients: carbohydrates, protein and healthy fats. They should pack a protein filled meal like chicken sandwiches, kababs, or pasta with chicken, some fruits or vegetables like carrots or banana. And since one of the most nutritious foods is milk, Moms should also include it in their children’s lunch box.

Research conducted by the Nutrition Society of Korea in 2016 revealed that milk intake by students led to improved academic performance and motivation to learn. Similarly, research by The National Institution of Nutrition in Vietnam in 2009 found the cognitive benefits of milk consumption in school-going children.

But how do you add milk in children’s lunch boxes? Today, there are many Flavoured Milk brands in market, like Olper’s,which provide a convenient solution to incorporate essential nutrients into children’s diet, potentially enhancing their overall performance at school.

Therefore, Moms should ensure that they make their children’s lunch boxes more nutritious by adding a variety of healthy foods which keep them fuller and help them perform better in later classes. Creative meal planning, and prioritizing children’s nutrition can help support children’s learning and development in school, extra curriculars and beyond.
