BEAT THE HEAT: TIPS TO REMAIN HYDRATED IN SUMMER

With the summer heat upon us, it’s important to make sure we stay hydrated to keep ourselves healthy and feeling good. Hydration is super important for our bodies to work right, keep us at a good temperature, and just generally be healthy. In this blog post, we’ll go over some tips to help you stay hydrated and cool during the hot summer days.

  1. Drink Plenty of Water: Staying hydrated is important to keep your body healthy. You should try to drink enough water every day. This is because they act as diuretics, which means you may pee more and lose fluids. If you still want to drink them, it’s important to do it in moderation and make sure you drink more water to make up for the fluids you may lose.
  4. Seek Shade and Avoid Peak Sun Hours: In the summer, it’s really important to stay cool and avoid the sun when it’s the strongest (usually between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.) This will help you avoid sweating too much and becoming dehydrated. If you do have to be outside, make sure to wear light, airy clothes and protect yourself with a hat and sunscreen.
  5. Electrolyte Replacement: When you sweat, you don’t just lose fluids, but also important electrolytes like sodium, potassium, and magnesium. To make up for the loss, you can try drinking coconut water or sports drinks that have electrolytes in them. Just be careful because some sports drinks have a lot of sugar in them. If you can, choose drinks that are healthier for you.
