I’m a huge fan of Pakistani dramas and have literally watched every drama be it on any channel what so ever.
Recently I’ve noticed that our industry has been fantasising cousin marriage and glorifying the romance between two cousins. As legal and ethical it is I strongly believe that this should be stopped. Family marriages are acceptable and very common in our culture and society it surely has pros but there are cons as well.
Firstly we should not reach our younger generation to romanticise their cousins as it could spoil family values and their childhood.
Secondly it has been scientifically proven that kids born to cousins face a lot of medical complications. I’m sure our youth is intelligent enough to make their decisions but media has a great influence and we should be careful while showing any kind of content that can effect the thinking and minds of the upcoming generation.
