Normalising toxic behaviour!

In life, we may come across some people that are super toxic but have no realisation due to the ignorance factor. The worst part is that due to the lack of awareness and self accountability, these people tend to start normalising such behaviour and looping in more people creating a space where such behaviour as wrong as it is, starts settling in and defining the new norms.

Here are some characteristics of toxic behaviour that should certainly not be acceptable.

  1. Invalidating other’s feelings because someone else has it worst.
  2. Expecting for immediate responses and not respecting personal space.
  3. Dumping on unsolicited advice disguised as “constructive criticism”.
  4. Ghosting someone instead of speaking like an adult and sharing reasons for what bothers them.
  5. Using mental health illness as an adjective to describe day to day issues. “This conversation makes me feel so bi-polar” or making statements like “I am so OCD about cleaning”
  6. Acting like everything is okay to avoid conflict.

These habits often tend to be seen as routine and not questioned, hence the next time you see someone undertake any of these characteristics, either guide them or distance yourself because who needs such negativity anyway?

Until next time.
