Abrar Ul Haq’s Baby Shark is nothing but misogyny

Recently we witnessed a spat between Abrar Ul Haq and celebrity moms amid his speech stating how mother’s of today use absurd rhymes like baby shark to put their kids to sleep contrary to the yesteryear’s mothers who used religious recitations to sooth the child.

A few weeks after the entire saga Abrar Ul Haq released a song of Baby Shark with an extremely misogynistic approach. The video shows men who are “Run Mureed” which means totally in their wife’s control. This approach on its own makes me sick to my gut, I mean who thinks like this in this day and age.

The video stars Saba Qamar and portrays the story of a wife who investigates about her husbands secretive behaviour doubting his intentions which eventually turn out to be a surprise being planned for her.

Having said that I believe we need to design our content more wisely and stay away from such negative messages. Our society is made up of what is engraved in their minds we as social media influencers and ofcourse the celebrities who definitely make an impact on the nation should think wisely before releasing any content.
