VIRAL WEDDING IN HUNZA!

An internet sensational wedding in Gojal, Hunza. Diversity beautifies this world and its people. Think for a moment how boring it would be if there was only one type of culture in this world. It is the diversity, the plurality of cultures and traditions that makes this world interesting. No culture is exclusive and each culture has its own beauty. Weddings are planned and celebrated at home. The bride told the media that there are no wedding halls in her area. The bride and groom sit together with all the people and villagers and happiness is celebrated by playing traditional music with men dancing. There is no stage set for the bride and groom. We sat down with all of our people. In her culture, the bride wears a handmade culture cap and special jewelry is attached to the silver cap (Chaandi). This is called “silsla”. The word dowry is unknown in her culture and there is not even a specific word for it in her language. Daughters do not receive a dowry, but receive an education with the full right to choose their life partner and determine their future. Marriages used to be arranged, but now boys and girls choose their own life partner.

A video of the pair decked up in wedding finery and taking a ride through the town in Hunza Valley on the excavator has gone viral.

When it comes to unique and grand entrances at weddings, we have come across some pretty mind-blowing ones, including one in which the groom skydived join his baraat. But now a couple in Pakistan has stolen the limelight by ditching all luxury and opting for a ‘hatke’ vehicle – an excavator!
