October is the Month of Breast Cancer Awareness

Breast cancer affects almost one out of every eight women in Pakistan at some point in their lives. The majority of people have at least one loved one who has died as a result of breast cancer. Enough the bright side, if it is discovered and treated early on, recovery is possible. However, we can only do this if we recognise the significance of breast self-examination (BSE), clinical breast examination (CBE), and mammography (X-rays of the breasts).

Mammograms are suggested every year for women over the age of 40. Women under the age of 40 who have a family history of breast cancer or other risk factors should evaluate their risks and an appropriate screening plan with their doctor, since the screening timeframe may change.
