What happened to Facebook, Whatsapp, and Instagram?

Several social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, went down on Monday for one of the longest outages in company history. Downdetector outage reports showed that all Facebook platforms were affected. These included Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Facebook said its engineers had determined that the problem was due to a network problem that was disrupting communications between its data centers. And with the servers unable to communicate, the problems increased, causing outages to its systems and its three main social platforms that are now slowly restarting, Facebook said. The Mark Zuckerberg team took it to twitter to address the ongoing issue and it was hilarious.

In a statement sent to USA TODAY, Facebook said: “To all those affected by the disruptions on our platforms today, we are sorry. We know that billions of people and businesses around the world rely on our products and services to stay connected. We appreciate your patience while we get back online. “
Facebook stated that no user data was compromised on their platforms.
Facebook previously said they are aware of this issue and are working to get back to normal as soon as possible.
