I remember when I was 18, I was busy sorting out my life. But in today’s world, 18 year old kids are successful and rocking. Angela Clayton is one of them, who knows where she will be after 5 years.
Angela is a costume designer, living in Long Island, New York. She started sewing at the age of 14 and now after four years she has received quite a publicity for designing her original dress designs.
Angela said, “I hope that there is a future career that I will get out of it. I love making costumes and I love bringing ideas to life. If I could do that for fashion, especially for theatre or film, that would be awesome…I would rather go straight into that if I can instead of spending four years at school.”
In one of her interview she said that the first thing she finished was a school uniform from an anime show when she was 14 and it took her about two months to complete it. Angela created the costumes and wore them to the conventions as she couldn’t afford the ones available online.
She then said, “I have one that I’ve been working on since January and I’m still not done with it, but I hopefully will be finishing it soon. I continued making the costumes because I enjoyed the sewing aspect of it. I decided to just give myself more freedom for focusing on historical projects and original design. If you practice, you can definitely do it. It might take you a while as it comes naturally to some people but it is definitely something you can learn how to do. I really enjoy doing it. I love making costumes and I love bringing ideas to life”
Certainly, her idea as not lesser than any fairytale costumes. If she wishes to become a part of any project like this, I am sure her prayers has been heard and good news is on the way for Angela.
