10 things to leave in 2021

As the new year approaches us, there are many resolutions and promises we make to ourselves. Usually, these are based upon self improvement and opting for a better quality of life to polish ourselves and nurture our inner child. 

Here are a few things that we should swear to leave back in 2021 and ensure we achieve our goals, remain carefree and happy. 

  1. Emotionally draining friendships and relationships. 
  2. Overcommitting to things that you really don’t want to do. 
  3. Ignoring and not communicating your needs. 
  4. Forcing ignorant people to change their habits. 
  5. Blaming yourself for things you had no control over. 
  6. Excusing dysfunctional treatment by saying “that’s how they are”. 
  7. Giving in to toxic people to avoid being alone. 
  8. Reacting to situations where you can take a step back. 
  9. Forcing connections that are not being reciprocated. 
  10. Not prioritising yourself as an act of unconditional love. 

It is essential to draw boundaries and start being protective about your energy. Life is too short to give in to situations that don’t make you happy or add value to your life. 

It’s better to get off that “new year, new me” bullshit and actually make changes that will enhance your daily lifestyle, benefiting you in the long term.
