Pakistani Fashion industry has come a long way; the new talent is surely putting in their effort to take the industry forward but our legends will always remain an example, they are the real heroes who made this industry.
Though there are many veterans who are still mentoring new people, giving them ideas, teaching them ethics of fashion but there are few models we all miss seeing because the spark they had is irreplaceable. While we all cheer for the young talent but the oomph of these models can never be forgotten.
Iraj Manzoor
Of course, who can ever replace her? Iraj Manzoor is currently settled in NYC and is enjoying her life there but she was a gift to the fashion industry. She is someone who taught and made new models but we surely miss her energy on the ramp!
Vaneeza Ahmed
Former supermodel and now a choreographer, Vaneeza Ahmed proved herself in a short span of time. The multi-talented might not walk on the ramp but is directing new models to walk gracefully, the way she used to own the runway. Good thing is that she is still in the business but off the ramp.
Iman Ali
There’s only one name which comes to our mind when we talk about beauty on the ramp and this is none other than Imaan Ali. She was a treat to the eyes – the way she used to own the runway no one can ever do the justice.
Aaminah Haq
Started her career as a model and soon conquered the industry by her grace. Tried her luck in acting and succeeded in it as well. She is currently settled in USA and might not be coming back to Pakistan but miracles do happen – let’s hope to see her again walking the runway.
Tanya Shafi
It won’t be wrong to say that Tanya was a blessing to this industry; she ruled the industry in 90s and soon transitioned as a TV show host. She is currently running a nursery and teaching children to improve their relationship with literature.
Zainab Qaiyoom
ZQ – who got immense fame after doing a show for HUM TV. She has now turned an actress and is enjoying that.
Sabina Pasha
Sabina Pasha has done numerous shows and became every designer’s favourite muse. Not just in Pakistan, she has made her name in international market as well. While she comes to Pakistan and has walked as a showstopper for few designers, we still miss her charm in every fashion week.
Tooba Siddiqui
Started her career in 2000, soon she made it to the top. She also acted in few serials, music videos and movies, though she is not completely out from the fashion scene but not being regular. We would want to see more of her because the more the better.
Gia Ali
The dusky diva Gia Ali not only maintained herself as a model but also became a popular film star. Her physique, height and looks were a perfect match and could beat any of international models.
Ayaan
Yes, we do miss her. Her grace, beauty and confidence on the runway is not there anymore – after the case of money laundering, we were hoping to see her again but looks like the diva has no plans for a comeback. Well, let’s not be hypocrites – we all know she was amazing!
