Shilpa Shetty believes George Orwell’s Animal Farm is about loving animals

Of late there have been celebrities who have become the butt of jokes and there are some celebrities who make fun of themselves sportingly. No matter how successful an actor or actress becomes, it is impossible to sustain a career without making mistakes.

Few days back Shilpa Shetty was trolled on Twitter after she misinterpreted George Orwell’s “Animal Farm.” The book, based on a dystopian society and the Russian Revolution of 1917, is a social commentary on the Stalinist era in the Soviet Union.

It’s just funny to see how celebrities who claim they know it all or show themselves perfect can be so dump. Shilpa’s failure to understand the political subtext of Animal Farm has never been this interesting.

“I think having books like ‘Lord of the Rings’ and ‘Harry Potter’ as part of the syllabus is a great move, because it cultivates imagination and creativity at a young age. I think books like ‘Little Women’ would also encourage respect towards women at a young age, she said.

“Even ‘Animal Farm’ should be included, as it will teach the little ones to love and care for animals.”
