Kangna Ranaut on her debut directorial ‘Teju’

During promotions of ‘Simran’, Kangna Ranaut has confirmed that she’ll be making her directorial debut soon in which she will play an elderly woman. “I will play an 80-year-old woman in my first directorial Teju. The film will be about every old person I know and have loved. It will also be a lot about me as I am older than my years,” Kangana said in a statement.

Ranaut said that it’ll happen once ‘Manikarnika’ is released. She’s quoted by Indian Express divulging, “That film (Teju) is under the process. I will start it only after Manikarnika. It will be a nice journey, I am looking forward to it. It is a children’s film, and I have a lot of ideas and excitement for it. But it will be a difficult project to pull off, and I am looking forward to it”.

About choosing Teju, a children’s film, as her directorial debut, Kangana says, “I have many ideas, and something which materialised is something like this, it is a family-children-drama because I want to cater to any audience. It will be a light-hearted film, I can’t call it comedy, but most definitely a nice film. This is what I wanted to do.”

Kangana has definitely taken on a challenge. Working with children in movies is definitely not an easy task and the Queen actor agrees. “Kids are very hard to handle!” says Kangana, adding, “I like children, but to work with kids..oh…oh God…their sleeping time, and you know… But in my film there are kids.”

There are no dates given for Teju but we can enjoy Kangana’s performance in Simran which comes out September 15.
